Clear Skies
A morning that opened my awareness to the open path ahead. The blocks are gone.

Clear Skies
by Dr. Scott, DVM · The Indigo Phoenix®
I almost drove to work on autopilot this morning.
Head full of tasks. Eyes on the road. Mind already three steps ahead — running through the day before it had even begun. The kind of Tuesday morning that disappears before you even notice you were in it.
And then the sky stopped me.
Blues and pinks and oranges, all layered together like something painted just for the moment. Not a single cloud anywhere. Two birds flying completely free, moving without hurry or hesitation across that open expanse of color. The road stretching out ahead of me — clear, unobstructed, open.
I slowed down and let myself breathe it in.
And something shifted.
What the Sky Said
I have been building The Indigo Phoenix® for years. Quietly, patiently, sometimes scared. Working in the margins — between clinical shifts, during commutes, in the early hours before the world woke up. Building something I believed in even when I could not yet see the evidence that it was working.
There were moments I doubted. Moments I wondered if the road ahead was actually open or if I was just telling myself a story to keep going. Moments when the blocks felt less like temporary obstacles and more like permanent walls.
This morning, the sky had a different message.
The road is open. The blocks are gone. It is time.
Not someday. Not when everything is figured out. Not when the fear finally disappears or when the timing is perfect. Now. Exactly as you are, exactly as things stand, with all the uncertainty still present and accounted for — the road is open.
I almost missed it. I almost drove past it on autopilot.
I am so glad I didn't.
Permission
I want to give you something today that the sky gave me this morning: permission.
Permission to create the thing you have been holding back. Permission to say the thing you have been rehearsing but not yet speaking. Permission to show up fully — not the polished version, not the version with all the answers, but the real one. The one that has been waiting.
So many of us are waiting for perfect conditions before we begin. We are waiting until we feel ready. Until the fear lessens. Until we have more time, more money, more certainty, more proof that it will work.
But the Phoenix doesn't wait for perfect conditions.
She rises now. Imperfect, bold, still becoming — she rises.
What a Clear Sky Actually Means
A clear sky is not the absence of difficulty. It is not a guarantee that nothing hard is coming or that every day from here will feel like this one. It is simply a moment of clarity — a break in the clouds where you can see, briefly and completely, that the path is there.
The path has always been there.
What changes is not the path. What changes is your ability to see it.
This morning I saw it clearly: I am ready. The work I have been building quietly for years is ready. The people I am meant to serve are out there, searching for exactly what I have to offer. The only thing left to do is drive forward.
If you are reading this, I think the same might be true for you.
The Practice: Your Clear Sky Moment
Before you read another word — stop. Look up, if you can. Out a window, from a doorway, at a sky that is available to you in this moment.
If the sky is cloudy today, that is okay. The clouds are not permanent. They are passing. Beneath them and beyond them, there is always sky.
Now ask yourself — quietly, honestly — what are you waiting for permission to begin?
What has been sitting in the quiet parts of your mind, calling your name, asking to be built or spoken or started or finished?
What would you do today if you knew — really knew — that the road was already open?
Write it down. Just one thing. That is enough to begin.
A Note From The Indigo Phoenix®
The Indigo Phoenix® was built for moments exactly like this one — for the humans who love animals deeply, who feel things fully, who have been carrying more than they have been letting on. For the veterinarians and caregivers and grievers and creators who have been operating on autopilot, waiting for permission to rise.
This is your permission.
The sky is clear. The road is open. You already have everything you need to begin.
I will see you out there. 🖤🔥
